I often check the statistics of my blog to see what posts garner the most attention. I was hoping for a more technical blog to be the most popular, but it appears that a throw a way article on the Performance Reviews appears to get hit every single day.

In some countries it is apparently within that lucrative top 10 Google search!

I do not have as much time as I would like to read all the great technical blogs out there so I have really pulled mine back to what I consider to be the real essentials.

I am really getting into Tess she is a troubleshooting extraordinaire. Really has the CSI thing going, I think she maybe closer to Columbo as she seems to know the answer before she starts! She stopped blogging for a while but has come back swinging. Also seriously consider Dare Obasanjo, he covers a wide range of topics and is not afraid to share his point of view regardless of whether it is for or against his Dark Overlord. Attwood is a very good writer if only a little "preachy". Hanselman remains the gold standard, however, I get the impression from his Hanselminutes podcast's that he is running out of things to talk about ... board games ... honestly!

I found myself doing searches all the time when writing blog posts (other blogger's and my own) and found this really easy to use Plugin for Live Writer developed by Mike Taulty.

Thankfully he was complaining about Google's about face on its Search API set and he referenced and old post ... great for me! I was thinking about creating this very same plugin but never found time. Mike makes use of the both the Windows Live Writer API and the MSN Search API.

Thanks Mike!

This is my first blog entry using Windows Live Writer, the new blog writer tool from Microsoft. I must admit I like it immediately, but considering that I was using notepad2 as my primary blog writing tool that may not be the most knowledgeable comment.

There are of course many great blog writing tools recommended all across blogville, but I will limit this blog to simply say that this tool has a very simple setup and installation stage, coupled with a WYSIWIG editor that simulates the layout of your blog. There is a cool Insert Map feature that allows Microsoft to show off there Live Local offering too. The thing I love the most , however, is a simple spell checker (not available in notepad2).

p.s. It also compatible with Blogger, LiveJournal, TypePad...
