Columbus Metropolitan Library (Main Steps)

I just offloaded a bunch of new ideas and concepts onto my engineering team in the hope of enabling some new features in our products. Sharing and subsequently yielding responsibility for the project was a little bit alien to me. Normally this would be the stage I would be receiving validated concepts.

To get to this moment I talked to a bunch of people, I mean a lot, and my focus was as follows:

  • Identify pragmatists in my area of interest with some friction (this takes longer than you think).
  • I kept asking them questions until I was sure of the underlying nature of the problem space.
  • I found as many other people to validate or invalidate my assertions and hypotheses.

I have not quite mastered this process, and in all honesty it probably took longer than it should have but I am eager to iterate and perfect this procedure.
