A few months ago I documented how you could use a couple of relatively simple registry hacks to configure which app your Surface Pen will invoke when clicked. Thankfully for owners of the new Surface Pen the associated app has been updated with a new section called Button Customization. Here you can select alternatives for the Single-Click, Double-Click, and the Press and Hold actions.

As I noted in my previous post the defaults for a given action may actually point you to Windows Store apps, and in some instances that is not the desirable outcome. Now updating exactly what default app gets launched is a simple UI change.
